MSP: Solera recs

I'm headed to Solera for the first time on Saturday night. Any things I shouldn't miss, and what should I avoid?

  1. My favorites are the marinated anchovies and the chorizo stuffed dates.

    1. I have no idea if these are still on the menu, but the ox tails are very good, rabbit is very good, croquettes, chorizo burgers and mussels are all our favorites.

      1. I am not sure if they are still on the menu, but a few of our favorites from the time I was there a few months ago were the scallops with serrano ham and the albigondas (meatballs).

        1. I've only dined off the late night menu (and the special menu for the Bourdain event), but what i would recommend is:

          -Bocadillos - The seared chilled tuna one is exceptional, and the chorizo one is also very good.
          -Shrimp and Tetilla Croquetas
          -Oxtail
          -Octopus ceviche is interesting...definitely worth a try.

          I really should make it over there for dinner.

            The oxtails are still on the menu, as are the albigondas. I didn't look on the menu, but I thought I saw some chorizo burgers going out to someone.

            My dining companion and I ordered the Seasonal Tasting menu, from which you receive 8 "courses" for $29 per person (minimum 2 people). There are also Nuevas and Traditional Tasting options.

              So how was the Seasonal Tasting menu? Did you feel like it was a good value?

            2. Oh how I miss what I thought was my favorite ever the escargot in choriza fat, unfortunately not on the menu anymore. But Solera is always one of my favorites. I haven't had much there i did not enjoy.

              1. I was there last Saturtday night and had a great dinner. Our favorites were the poached salmon with apple-celeryroot puree and the scallops a la plancha. So good.
