Best mail order seafood sites?

My husband and I are planning a nice dinner in for New Year's Eve this year. We're interested in having some really good quality large peel and eat shrimp and clams. He brought up the idea of getting some shipped to us from Florida or wherever. I did a little preliminary searching, but was curious to see if anyone has had any good experiences with mail order seafood sites? Or would we just be better off getting the best we could find at a local seafood market or Whole Foods?

  1. I've been very pleased with seafood from Linton's (as a matter of fact, I had an order of scallops and shrimp arrive this morning). As you may know, beware of shrimp adjectives. Small shrimp are called "medium," medium shrimp are "large." etc. Instead, look at the number of shrimp per pound.

      1. Seattle Seafood Market. This is a real store, not just online. They have fish and shellfish from all over, but I like to call them up and find out what's just come in off the local boats. They'll cut it according to my requirements, cryovac it, and I get it the next day. Not exactly cheap, but terrific quality.
