BA on New Years Eve (yes, we already know everyone will be in Punta)

I've perused the board for recommendations on dining and the must visit places to eat, and feel I have a fairly decent grasp. My topic pertains specifically to NYE, and what options there are for two men (straight) to get the most out of BA. We are both from New York City and are looking for both a dining option and after dinner recommendation to party. Value and price are not an issue, we are just looking for something non-tourist and somewhat exclusive that has a well-heeled crowd (if possible).

Any help would be appreciated. IF it is absolutely essential that we go to Punta, do we just wing it with no place to stay or is that a non-starter?

My husband I are in the same boat. We are from NY/NJ and we will be in BA for the New Year. I have not made reservations, but we are looking for a dining option and a party option for later on in the evening.
I came across a couple party/dining packages, that were way over my price range, like 300 a couple. What restaurants are you planning to go to while you are in BA, have you decided on your NYE plans?
