Harvard Club Private Parties

Has anyone gone to a private party for around 50 people at the Harvard Club? If so, what did you think of the ambience, food and service. If you gave such a party, were you happy with the results and why?

  1. i've been to a variety of meals and parties at the H-Club...the setting can be fun because it's an old clubby building (at least in the original eastern wing -- the newer entrance fifty feet to the west looks like the entrance to any corporate hotel and always annoys me)...but depending on what room you are in, the setting can be evocative and there are some nice nooks&crannies: there is a little balcony hidden in the library that looks out over one of the great rooms and a huge mounted elephant's head...but other rooms are dull and drafty and don't offer much beyond wood panelling...if your party was confined to one of those rooms, you might be pretty unhappy...

the food is so-so, the service is that sense, it's supposed to remind you of being back in college...

if you want a really stellar club setting: check out the National Arts Club on Gramercy Park...never eaten there though, only drank...
