Stainless Steel cookware question

hello we bought a cheap stainless steel roasting rack from a supermarket but we put over the gas stove to make jus but ithe rack turned an blue black colour. Is this safe or should i throw away the rack?

you were making a jus with the rack still in the pan? How do you stir around in the pan while the rack is sitting there?
