        <content>HI,

I have a 5+ year old Kitchenaid food processor. I need to replace the top and bowl. Anyone know where I can find spare parts? I looked at kitchenaid.ca but it seems they only advertise the new models. I really don't feel like spending a lot money to buy a new one, when the base/motor, blades etc.. are all functional.

Thanks!</content>

      <content>Man you are a whiz.

The tops look perfect, but the bowl is a newer model. I will call them in the AM. But you know my luck with appliances, and appliance issues.</content>

<content>You can buy parts for Kitchenaid appliances through the Whirlpool parts store.

http://www.whirlpoolparts.ca/repair_parts.php

If you don't have the part number, you can look up the parts schematic by entering the model number in the Model Search field.

There's also a tool for locating the nearest parts store that carries Whirlpool parts.

http://www.whirlpoolparts.ca/storeLocator.php

According to this site, Sears parts stores will have what you're looking for. I suggest you call the nearest store and ask if they can get those parts for you.</content>

<content>Alas and alack, the parts are not to be. It would seem they no longer make the bowl for the 5 year old model I have.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We followed each one up, and many phone calls later, I have resigned myself to buying a new one. It's appliance month at my house! New stove, dishwasher that finally works after 3 months, I'll be getting my new 1000 watt Cuisinart stand mixer soon, and now I must purchase a new food processor.
Good thing it's all tax deductible for me.</content>

<content>Are you sure about the bowl? I have a 60+ year old Hobart model, and the newer Kitchenaid bowls fit perfectly. The beauty of the system is that all the major components have stayed exactly the same over the decades. The interface for the meat grinder attachment, for example, has been the same since the 1940s!

Doh!!! IGNORE, IGNORE. I was thinking mixers.Duh.</content>
