Stanley is finally open!

It's definitely a diner/soda fountain concept. We stole a menu, and here are a few highlights, served all day:

*Eggs Benedict Poor Boy
*Omelet Sandwich - eggs, ham, bacon, cheese, grilled onions, spicy mayo on whole grain bread.
*Pancakes with Vanilla Ice Cream and Louisiana Cane Syrup
*Eggs Stella - fried soft shell crab, poached eggs, Canadian bacon & Creole Hollandaise.
*Korean BBQ Beef Tenderloin and House Kim Chee Poor Boy.

The menu is mostly sandwiches and breakfast/brunch items that Chef Boswell has "kicked up."

They do have mimosas, bloody marys, beers & wines, but they are fairly pricey for our tastes.

For dessert, they have home made ice creams and sorbets, floats, sodas and sundaes.

We'll probably try it next week after they've had a chance to smooth out the service.

I just had the Korean BBQ Beef and Kim Chee. It was delicious I must say. I plan on returning for some other tastes, particularly the Eggs Stella and/or Benedict.

Just had lunch at Stanley yesterday. Overall, we left disappointed. However, I think that had we ordered differently and kept it simple, we would have had a far better meal. The reubens and burgers making their way around the dining room looked delicious.

Well done. I don't think anyone could ask for a better picutre than what you've provided. And I have to agree with you on the $17 po-boy...insanity, and the gumbo debacle is extremely disappointing.

Enjoyed the Eggs Stanley at brunch today. A table across from us highly recommended the Eggs Stella - the soft shell crab did look delicious and light. The service was casual and on point. I'll be back for more within the week.

You'll be happy to know that the Reuben is, indeed, still on the menu. It looks great.

Korean BBQ Beef Tenderloin with House Kimchi Po Boy. Fantastic. Got up this morning and went for breakfast. If anyone's thinking of going, get this.

Where is Stanley? Is there a website? It's the same chef as Stella, correct? Sounds too good to miss!

Stanley is facing Jackson Square, across Chartres Street from Muriel's.

Did it move??? Stanley was on Decatur, not facing Jackson Square.

Yes. The Decatur location has been closed for years. They took over the old Le Madeline (sp?) location, and have been renovating for what seems like a decade.

I knew they had closed, but thought they were renovating the old space. I was not aware of the move. Will have to visit it for one of the outstanding bloody marys and a Reuben when I am in town next month.

          The Bird Dec 8, 2008 01:43 PM

Just ate at Stanley...finally. I had the Stanley classic, two eggs, sausage or bacon, potatoes and toast. It was great, although the couple dining with Scott Boswell's mother were both enjoying the burger. That's what I will have next time, if anyone has an insider track it's his mother.
