Best Options for Stone Crabs?

Looking for quality at a good price.

City Crab and Blue Water Grill have them. And also check the menus of steakhouses. Many steakhouses should carry them.

I have seen them all over C-town but I strongly recommend against getting them there. They may be about $5/lb there but the quality is really bad, and IMO not worth it at that price. C-town can be a great source for cheap seafood (ie. lobsters and dungenoness crabs), but stone crabs are not one of them.

I've had really good luck with stone crabs at Citarella, but they are pretty expensive at about $25/lb.

What size are they? $25/lb isn't unreasonable for large sized (on a small/medium/large/jumbo scale). When I go to visit famliy in Miami, prices for large aren't that different.

Probably equivalent to a medium at Joe's in Miami. While not unreasonable, it's a lot more than the $5/lb at C-town.
