Christmas Eve dinner 2008

We're looking for a really fantastic Christmas Eve dinner - something special to celebrate the holidays. We went to Grace last year - it was good, but nothing spectacular. Been looking at Providence, Ortolan, or Bastide for this year. Any thoughts? Does Bastide even do a special menu? Anyone have Christmas Eve dinner at any of these places last year? Would appreciate any thoughts on this...Thanks!

I believe Bastide closed. I used to go to Saddlepeak Lodge. but after a disaster a couple of years ago caused by a new manager, I've never been back. We went to Cut last year and it was so terrific, we are going again this year.

I nixed Saddlepeak after reading some of the reviews here. While Cut is great, steak just isn't my idea of Christmas. But, thanks so much for the response. I had not realized that Bastide closed. Too bad.

I completely understand about 'steak' not feeling festive. Another suggestion: I used to go to Water Grill on Christmas Eve. Did it for 4 years, then just decided to switch (to Saddle Peak). It was also always wonderful. But perhaps Providence is the way to go?

Providence does a lovely Christmas Eve dinner. I'm guessing Melisse would also be lovely, and they just remodeled.
