Pickled jalapenos/carrots (in Bucktown/W.P.)

Taco Cafe, which was near the corner of North Avenue and Ashland in Bucktown, served great Mexican fast food before it abruptly closed without explanation several years ago. They used to served delicious pickled jalapenos (whole) and carrots if you requested them.

While I have seen these in the store, I would appreciate any thoughts on any good Mexican food joints in the Bucktown/Wicker Park area where I can get these with my meal.

Thanks.

El Taco Veloz serves them (along with pickled garlic and cauliflower which are both REALLY great). It's on 1745 W Chicago Ave.

The pickled vegetables are on each table in a plastic container. The only thing that bugs me about the whole thing is that the lids to the containers are always upside down. But, the food has always been pretty good.

As a fore note, El Taco Veloz has hilarious decorations during the Christmas season. I find the place to be a little dark, but it sure is homey.
