ISO restaurant with Slated Door-like ambiance near the Embarcadero for tomorrow night - help!

I am looking for a restaurant near the Embarcadero that is busy and loud (like Slanted Door) and serves delicious fare (also like Slanted Door). I don't mind sitting at the bar and favor smaller dishes. Reservations are preferred but not necessary. Any suggestions?

Doesn't have the exact view of Slanted Door but one of my favorite restaurants in the city is nearby - The Salt House. I took a business partner there for dinner and we returned another time the next time he was in town - great food and flavors, have never had a problem getting a reservation (though it does usually fill up) if I'm a bit flexible on time, and the menu is always changing.

You could maybe try calling Slanted Door right when they open tomorrow and see if they have any cancelled reservations....I know people who have gotten in at the last minute this way. It's very possible, esp. if you are flexible with timing and are a party of 1 or 2. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Yes, I showed up once right when they opened and got seated (or maybe I called when they opened) for a party of 5. That was on a Sunday and the OP is looking into Saturday.

The operator answering the phone did suggest calling back tomorrow but he also said they are completely booked - the entire day. To not be able to squeeze in a party of 2 at any time the entire day is pretty crazy.

Thank you for your suggestion, though.

Not sure about the loudness (only have been there for lunch) but Epic Roasthouse has a great ambience upstairs. There's both a bar and a high communal table with barstools and a view of the bay. They have a variety of apps, house-cured meat patters and sides to nosh on, if you are a grazer (like me).
