Modern wedding outside of the city?

We are looking to have a modern/minimalist wedding outside of the city. Victorian inns and rustic barns do not feel right to us. We are looking for something different and fun. Any ideas? Many thanks!

what about blue hill at stone barns - we ate dinner there one night & there was a wedding going on that looked beautiful. it is NOT a rustic barn, but a modern restaurant. the restaurant is quite expensive, so i would think the wedding would be too. don't know what your budget is.

having personally been to a wedding at Blue Hill Stone Barnes, I would recommend them in a heartbeat. The food is outstanding and the decor minimal, elegant and understated.

BTW, katonah art museum will rent out for cocktail standing only parties but it's a very modern, cool thing to do- if the weather is good- wow- sculptures, etc. very hip!

i've been searching for the same thing for my daughter's bat mitzvah. I found a great space in yonkers but they are not sure they can last till may , given the economy- this is a tough search- and searching is my forte!
Il Sorriso in irvington is a crisp looking italian restaurant. unpretentious and good fare. Capacity isn't huge but it was a nice perfect affair we went to - sophisticated, lovely- simple and chic.

Not quite minimalist, but perhaps X20 in Yonkers? Guests can get their by Metro North.

Don't know if they do weddings at all but you might check Dia Beacon

Unfortunately, they do not rent out their space. Good idea though...

What about Hammond Museum in North Salem?
