Good Food, Vegetarian Options Norwalk/Darien

We are a bunch of cool cats out from California shooting a movie in Norwalk / Stamford and Darien for the next couple weeks and are in need of some good food for our hungry, vegetarian editors.

Any suggestions?

Take a ride up to St Mary's by the Sea in Bridgeport (right over the Fairfield line) and go to Blood Root. You'll be so very glad you did. It's a feminist collective restaurant with a great indie bookstore and the food is unbelievable. Very Berkley. BYOB.

I'd also say Meli Melo at the bottom of Greenwich Ave in Greenwich is a great option for crepes with lots of vegetarian options (assuming dairy and eggs are ok).

In Stamford, don't overlook Sierra Grill for fast food to go (I know, I know, it's not good compared to Cali Mexican) and a few doors up Ole Mole. They are both on High Ridge, just south of the Parkway.

These were some of my staples when I was a vegetarian.

And, don't miss Colony Grill while you are here if cheese is ok. There's only one item on the menu (PIZZA!) and you will find many posts with accolades if you search this board.

Like A Avenue, jfood highly recommends The Lime for the best "Vegetarian" option.

But many restaurants have vegetarian selections so please do not limit yourself to this place.

Wander down to South Norwalk along Washington Ave and view the menus. Great food with V-options. Check out the menu at Ten-Twenty in Darien to see if there are enough choices there, and then along lower Summer St in Stamford, there are plenty there as well.

The Lime restaurant in Norwalk is a great spot and they offer lots of yummy vegetarian options.
