We had a quick viisit:

Chocolate Cafe - This place serves breakfast and lunch. We had a Chocolate Overload for our 'lunch'. I won't describe it other than to say that it was about 6 million delicious calories. Heavily recommended.

Standard Diner - A former gas station turned into a diner serving upscale comfort food. Full bar. Good service and our meals, we ate here twice, were quite good.

Ming Dynasty - Finally, we went here about 1130am on Sunday. All of our standbys were present and quite good. They use carts for their Dim Sum which we like. We'd go back to this place.

I forgot, Senior's syndrome I suspect, two items of note.

We Also had dinner at Cervantes Restaurant based on the recommendation of one of the cooks at Embassy Suites. We asked him for a New Mexican, no fancy frills place. We were quite satisfied and happy with the outcome.

Also, the Gruet Winery has its winery and tasting room in ABQ. (The vines are down near T or C). Very friendly and informative. We took the tour of the winery which was short but complete. OK, I admit it, we bought some of their wine too.

Thanks, Phil. The 'problem' with Standard Diner is that their food is in some weird nexus of good-interesting-tasty but not outstanding-outlandish-notable that I often overlook them in favor of other places.

Simply put, they are a great choice, for most eaters, at any time. Their beet appetizer rocks my world.
