We travel through Hatch at least once a year and have pretty much accepted that Dairy Queen was our best option.

We noticed the new Sparky's BBQ & Burgers and stopped in during the week after Thanksgiving. I had the green chili cheeseburger and my wife a pulled pork sandwich. My burger (about 1/3 pound) was very flavorful and I would definitely get it again. My wife said that her sandwich was very good - the bbq sauce was a bit sweet and spicy.

Also the interior is very nice. Give them a try.

Thanks for the tip. We visit the Las Cruces-Mesilla-Hatch microplex about once a year, so I'm always glad to hear about good dining options in the area.

Stopped at Sparky's last week. The service and food are still outstanding. Nice to see that they haven't quit working their tails off.

On a sorrowful note, the Dairy Queen is no longer.

I know that this isnt exactly food related, but they have the most amazing B&B in Hatch, which is actually where I am getting married soon. Its a historic building just outside of town that used to be a convent, and is now a b&b, spa and sanctuary. It reminds me of some of the wonderful places in Santa Fe but on a Hatch budget... it is really worth a stay!
