Chinatown - Irvine, Orange County

Went to Chinatown (University Center, Irvine) for dinner Sunday and had one of their chalkboard selective dinners, Asparagus and Chicken. It was a simple dish; just those two ingredients with a thickened chicken stock sauce (corn starch?).
However, what impressed me was the quality of product. The color of the asparagus was a beautiful green that was lightened by them trimming off the sides with a peeler, but not completely; just a swipe of a few green lines. They used just the top 3-4 inches with the asparagus tip, cooked just shy of a regular tender. The chicken seemed to be free-range (I didn't ask) and though sliced in thin island planks, were very tender and tasty. Not a lot of seasoning. (I like their hot mustard and soy sauce and used that on some bites)
It was a simple quality pleasure. I like that place.
Also, I found it interesting that there are two decors in there. One side of the room (right) is rather traditional and dark and the other (left by the bathrooms) is contemporary and very light.
