Sushi with kids

We will be staying in Time Square over the
holidays.The kids eat mostly rolls and cooked
things.We are looking for a nice place that
the kids would enjoy as well.

From a mom- Try Todai. OK, not a nice place and not great ( or sometimes even good) sushi. It is a buffet. Kids can be kids and you won't break the bank. I will say that I would have felt more comfortable posting this on a local message board than on CHowhound.

kids would like Ruby Foo's right at times square the fruit roll sushi is great , huge place lots of kids

If you're willing to head east, try East on 27th and 3rd. The kids can choose small plates of sushi from the conveyor belt (sit at a booth) or order hot food from menu. Food is good and very affordable. Upstairs they have private karaoke suites where you can order from the menu and do karaoke (best for ages 10 and up, but younger kids are fascinated by the whole thing). karaoke info is - www.japas27.com.

It's pricier than the other places mentioned, but Blue Ribbon, on W. 58th could work for you. The tempura rock shrimp are amazing. We've often taken children to the Soho location.

If you are looking to stay in Times Square, you can go to Haru on 43rd Street & Broadway.

Haru is definitely good, but I think children will really enjoy Ruby Foo's and it's right in Times Square..

We have a Haru in Boston we do like it .Ruby Foo's looks like
something the kids would love how is the
sushi for the grown upsThanks for the suggestions

Sadly the food at Ruby Foos--especially the sushi--is quite poor.
