West Hollywood Casual/Good

chris2269 Dec 4, 2008 09:15 AM

Going to a show at the Viper Room Saturday night and wanted to know if there was anything in that area thats worth a recomendation.

Will be dressed casual for show (Jeans & hoodie)

We can always stop somewhere on the way up from San Diego but thought I'd see if anyone had any input.

Doesn't have to be next door 5 to 10 miles would be fine.

Here are some WeHo and Hollywood area favorites.
    La Fonda Antioquena(Colombian) on Melrose
Korean tacos!!! Just did a tasting recently, unique and delicious
Tasca Wine Bar for tapas and wine
And, the liquor store and small cigar lounge right next to the Viper Room for a post show smoke.

Next time, bring a change of clothes for Fogo de Chao, but I believe they'll take you as is.Not many dress codes enforced these days, but you might feel out of place.

Could you be more specific about what you're looking for?

Nothing too expensive maybe $50 - $60 per person maximum

Funny you mention "La Fonda Antioquena" my girlfriend is Columbian and we have eaten there before and loved it. (I had this in my mind as a back up plan)

Just someplace we will say "im glad we tried that"

open to all foods (exept Thai - Girlfriend's only dislike)

I will research the options you and Obessed mentioned thanks for the response :)

You have a lot of choices in that area and don't worry too much about your casual dress. Here is a good mix of options: Melrose Bar & Grill, Amarone Kitchen & Wine, Vivoli Café & Trattoria, Comme Ça, The Hall at Palihouse, Hugo's, Bossa Nova, Vito's Pizza, Ronin Izakaya Bistro, BLD.

Bossa Nova is a really good/ casual meal that comes with great service. and they are normally pretty quick with the food

Fat Fish on Robertson. They have a lounge in the back where you can have a nice dinner and good drinks. No dress code and it isnt pricey.
You can also check out Mirabelle on Sunset but it may end up being a little more expensive.
