Monday recommendation?? -

I'm looking for a dinner rec for Monday.

I considered the Niagara Street Cafe, Caren's Wine Bar, Delux, and Alice's Restaurant only to find that all are closed on Mondays.

I'm looking for something downtown, neighbourhood-y, and warm and cozy where we can linger... something like any of the above mentioned restaurants - but open on Monday!

  1. Perhaps not quite fitting your criteria but here are some decent restos that I know are open Monday - Batifole, Globe Bistro, Tutti Matti, Opus and further uptown if need be, Zucca.

    1. Rab,

What about Le Paradis? It gets the love it or hate it dissention on this board but I've never had a bad meal there. Its definitely "cosy", and neighbourhood-y with atmosphere and easy on the wallet...

Given that Mr. Rab loves the offal thing, I know he could find a thing or two on the menu to his liking...

And oh-get the foie gras/chicken liver pate.

      1. I had a really fun meal at Tomi Kro a few Monday's ago. Food and service were great. Would highly recommend.

Another good option is Sidecar on College - they have a great prix fixe menu too.

        1. Thanks for the recs... we've booked at Tutti Matti (one of my faves, so I'm always happy to go back).

SWS - I'm catching up with my stepmom on Monday, so Mr. Rab won't be joining us, but I'll try to get him to Le Paradis for some offal in the new year. LP has been on my radar for the longest time and I can't believe we've yet to get there.

We did end up Tutti Matti... and the food was actually even better than I remember. Pastas were excellent (papardelle with brisket was very satisfying winter food), desserts were great (lemon tart was winning), and the service was charming and expert.
