Birmingham caterer/ lunches/ big group dinners?

Hi folks -
I'm bringing a group of 25 teachers to Birmingham for a study trip in spring 2009. Any suggestion for a caterer (or sandwich shop) for our lunches? What about reasonably inexpensive (but with lots of local flavor) places for big group dinners?
Thanks in advance -
Matt

    1. B&A Warehouse caters and hosts events at their venue located at 1st Avenue S. and 16th Street.

          Another caterer with a facility is Kathy G (kathyg.com) 205-942-4210. She's a local institution.
Another great choice, although he doesn't have a venue, is Chef Clayton Sherrod (chefclayton.net) 866-490-7154.
As for a place to go, try Chez Lulu 205-870-7011. It's a funky little bistro run by a woman who runs an artisan bakery next door. Prices are reasonable: wood-oven pizzas, sandwiches, tarts, etc. It's one-of-a-kind.
For something more basic, try one of the locally owned pizza places (Dave's, for example) or wing joints (Bob Baumhower's) 205-995-5151.

25 people would about take over all of Chez Lulu, right? I like the place but it's kind of small, especially when it's cold and you don't want to sit outside.

Yeah, they'd just about have to take it over. They might be able to feed 25 in that front section, though. Possibly in the two back sections. It all depending on the timing.

Thanks to the three of you for your input. The B&A Warehouse menu looks solid - we'll likely use them for some lunch catering. For the restaurant suggestion, Chez Lulu looks great. I'm wondering, though, if anyone has any recommendations just a little bit closer to the two sites we'll be at: The Redmont Hotel and the Civil Rights Institute.

The Fish Market, 612 22nd Street South. Incredible selection of fresh seafood (they also have a market selling the fish), with an oyster bar for those so inclined. It's just out of the downtown area, but very accessible.
They can accomodate that many people, and the owner, George Sarris, is one of the great characters in Birmingham. They also have a shuttle and if you call ahead, they might be able to do a pickup and return your group.

Fish Market looks great: Unfortunately, they're closed Sundays. Any suggestions for a place for a Sunday dinner?

Sundays in Birmingham are a little rough for non-chain dinners and even more so for large groups. Hopefully someone here will come up with some suggestions but you might be limited to something like Dave's (ok pizza) or chains.

Jinsei is good but 25 would take over the entire restaurant and it's not inexpensive.
