good beer on Dundas West in Toronto
I've got a gang of about 15 gathering for an event at the Lula Lounge (1585 Dundas West) the evening of December 10.
I've been asked to figure out a good gathering place for the beforehand.
#1 Requirement though is that it have GOOD BEER (ideally on tap. Bar Volo would be perfect, but it's too distant.)
#2 Requrement is that they be able to handle 15-ish people.
The Communists Daughter is one thought but I've not yet been there. Anyone know if they have decent beer on tap?
any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Unconfirmed reply: if proximity is a consideration, there is a new place that opened up beside Bento's service centre, just east of Sheridan and Dundas (that's just a few doors away from Lula). It's called "Henhouse" and would seem to be quite similar in style to Communists Daughter. I popped my head in the day it opened, and I'd call it a 'young hipster hangout' kind of joint. They've got a juke box, lots of second hand, mismatched chairs and tables and such, and seemingly friendly clientele. Not fancy-dancy at all, but a nice vibe. Unsure about beer selection as I haven't yet been, but I'd bet they've got the scenester faves. Large enough for a 15 person party for sure (larger than Communists Daughter) so long as it's not crowded.
I live just up the street and intend to visit once the economy improves and allows me something approximating a disposable income. I'll report back some years from now.
That would be it for the immediate 'hood. As others have mentioned, Ossington is the closest gentrified block of coolness, but is a 15-20 minute walk or so from Lula. Longer in heels.

re: goofibulator
Does anyone have an update about this place? I live on Sheridan and every night I've come home on the weekend this place is packed. I'm very curious. Do they serve food there? I know it was opened by the girls from the band "The Organ". I thought it was supposed to be a brunch place originally!
