best seafood in providence

I can't think of a place that is specifically seafood, but I've found the fish entrees at Chez Pascal to be about the best in the city. I would have recommended Mill's Tavern too, but it's been hit or miss there lately.

Aside from Hemenway's (where I had the best 'baked stuffed shrimp' the other night), the only other 'seafood' restaurant in the city is McCormick-Shmick's in the Biltmore Hotel. I went there earlier this year and had one of the worst seafood dinners ever - overpriced, and just plain horrible. The service had much to be desired as well. However, the seem to be the competition for Hemenway's...so you may like it there.

How is the Providence Oyster Bar? I haven't been, so I can't comment on the food, but it is another Providence seafood option.

I've never been but it's an expense acct favorite at my office. I think it's considered the best seafood in the city, so I'm surprised to read that someone said M&S is Hemenways only competition.

I always forget about the Oyster Bar. It's decent. Nothing that blew me away, but lots of fresh fish options.

Oyster Bar has pretty good wine prices also, if that's your bag.

hell yeah! were there tonight and last thurs. $1 oysters and a ton of stuff on the bar menu for $6 (lobster roll, legit!) "sushi" rolls (not "real" sushi but fun & tasty), soups, salads under $6 as well. it's a crazy good deal.
it's 4- 6:30 every day. closed sunday
