I went to one of their first wine pairings dinners with Bonny Doon's owner/winemaker in July. 20 of us or so were seated in the rather cramped quarters (fortunately, two people didn't show up so there was adequate elbow room -- but just barely) as Randall Graham sort of held court and kept us enraptured through the tasting. On the tables upon our arrival, were platters of pre-sliced salami and Marcona almonds. The entire meal was served family style.

The first course was Padron peppers with Maldon sea salt and Piquillo peppers stuffed with bacalao served with Bonny Doon's Albarino.

The second course was the housemade Pate Grand Mere with cornichons and rostini and Devil's Gulch Ranch rabbit risotti with Parmesan and herbs and truffled summer squash salad. This was served with six different vintages of Bonny Doon Cigare Volant.

The third course was Syrah-braised Niman Ranch Shoulder with gremolata with vegetables and potatoes. The wines served were Bonny Doon's Syrah and Nebbiolo.

And for dessert, apricot galette with vanilla bean and lavender whiopped cream with Vol des Agnes, a late-harvest.

I believe this was their very first event and at the time, it was offered for a mere $40, a fabulous bargain. I believe the prices have since gone up. It was a great evening of comeraderie and friendship-making.
