  1. They're excellent, and they're often priced as low as $13 a pound.

I just spent some time in New Orleans (I had access to a kitchen) and got spoiled by the low prices down there. Fresh Louisiana caught shrimp for $7.00/lb at many grocery stores.

Nevertheless, it is good to see them available here in CA.

"Fresh Louisiana caught shrimp for $7.00/lb at many grocery stores." Yeah - they didn't have to pay plane fare! Too bad we can't just get'em to swim up here...

    2. Note: The Bristol Farms ad on the back page of today's L.A. Times food section features "White Jumbo Shell-On Shrimp" for $8.99 per pound.

      1. Hershey Bomar -- Thanks for this tip!
I purchased them today at the Westlake Village store. I just broiled them for dinner, with a little butter and salt, and they were very fresh, nicely textured and sweet. Surely, they are better than most other large shrimp that we can purchase in this area.
I very much appreciate your having posted this find!
