Lunch with kids near FAO Schwartz or Wollman Rink

Fairly self explanatory. going to take the small people to see FAO schwartz, and then to skate. we plan on getting to FAO at 10, will probably stay an hour or so, then have lunch and head over to skate.

it's 3 6 year olds and one 3 year old. they are good kids but they are kids, so they tend to be noisy.....just want something clean, basic food like burgers/salads/pizza. would prefer table service.

there are a few burger heavens in the vicinity, which i know have seating inside. i've only had delivered food from the Madison Ave / 54th St location. the burgers are decent. they also serve fried and broiled chicken, chili, soup, salads. no pizza, but they have a pizza burger. the restaurant looks bright and cheery from the outside when i walk by.

there is a 40 carrots inside of bloomingdales on 59th and 3rd, with an inexpensive children's menu offering pizza and pasta and a few other items. they also have smoothies, salads, turkey burgers, sandwiches and of course frozen yogurt.

sounds like a really fun time! may the schwartz be with you!

To add to MMRuth's suggestion is Gene's Diner, which is located on 60th St between Madison and Park which has slightly cheaper diner food and has a bit more space than Viand.

Not sure if you want to risk it but Burger Joint in the Parker Meridien is also an option if you don't mind the wait.

Angelo's Pizza is also an option - on 57th st between 7th and 6th ave, I think.

Gene's Diner is straight up nasty and should be avoided...go to angelo's..burger joint is great but not suited for that many little kids...

thank you Cpalms....I definitely want to avoid anywhere dirty and last year we walked into and out of Le Bonne Soup b/c it was just SO QUIET. the kids aren't particularly loud, but compared to a room full of quietly dining adults, 4 kids might as well be 25 kids!

There's a pop burger nearby, though I've not been and not sure it's gotten good reports here. Viand is a nice old fashioned coffee shop on Madison and 61st, and it might do the trick, though I doubt they have pizza. My in-laws like to take the kids to Serafina, but I think it's over priced and not such great food.
