I am looking to get my cousin and her new husband a GC to a nice restaurant in Newport for Christmas. Any suggestions?

Try searching the boards. There's lots of info out there.

I did see those, but those responses are mostly from 2005-2007, so I was looking for updated information.

Do a board search with the keyword Newport and restrict to one year (that's an option).

      Castle Hill for splurging
Cafe Zelda for superb food and comfortable ambience

I had a great meal at the end of the summer at Salvation Cafe. Very cool vibe too, fun and offbeat. Should be fun for the newly weds, has the potential to be romantic. Tell them to go next doors to Tuckers for the house made irish cream for an after dinner drink, yum. I've never eaten Tuckers so I can't comment on the food.

The food at Tucker's is fantastic, and it's a much lower-key, more romantic vibe than Salvation Cafe. Depends on what you think they'd like....but for a romantic night, I'd choose Tucker's.

My wife and I highly recommend Spark. We dined there in October and both the meal and the service were excellent.
