Are there any good Caribbean restaurants in the greater Charleston area?

I don't usually recommend places that I haven't tried yet, but what about Fuel? It got a good review in the City Paper and the menu looks tempting. Their website is www.fuelcharleston.com.

I've seen the menu from the web site and I'll pass. Just because you put mango salsa on something doesn't make it Caribbean. Looks to be more for tourists from my perspective.

I found another place up Dorchester during my search, but it seems closed (the phone is disconnected anyway).

I guess there's no Caribbean in Charleston...that's a shame seeing how many of the first real settlers migrated north from there.

Thanks for the recommendation...for now I'm gonna pass on Fuel unless I get REALLY bored one day.

As a side note...I just flipped back over to the Fuel menu and my fiance who is from the Caribbean is chuckling.

        Maybe we'll happen upon something.

        Merry Christmas.
