Does anyone know of any little hole-in-the walls to get a good Cuban sandwich?

I've been to Andre's Cuban restaurant on Morena Blvd and thought it was good though I honestly can't compare it to any other Cuban cooking because it's the only Cuban restaurant I've ever been too.

Azucar in Ocean Beach on Newport has many cuban delights.

I have heard that the best is from Tropical Star on Balboa. The cooks are cuban.

Yes, Tropical Star makes a terrific Cubano, block and a half east of Genessee on Balboa in a strip mall that includes an IHOP .

Is this a sit-down restaurant, a sandwich shop, or what?

the bandeja paisa i had was epic - especially their meaty chicharron they top the steak with! so good!

The columbian tamal is also fantastic - but their specialty is the pasteles con gandules y arroz - the owners are boriquas.

I agree, the best around, what i'm always on the hunt for. try latin chef in p.b. for the best peruvian i think . hole in the wall joints have all the love.
