Taco Bell Cheesy Double Beef Burrito: Chilito Substitute?

Stopped in the local Taco Bell and noticed that their value menu now has an .89 cent "Cheesy Double Beef Burrito": Seasoned ground beef, nacho cheese sauce, rice, and "red sauce." While they kinda go overboard on the nacho sauce, by adding a couple packets of salsa, it tasted similar to the dearly departed Chili Cheese Burrito. Oddly enough, the Bean Burrito is ten cents more.

Has anyone tried it? What do you think?

  1. I haven't seen it or tried it yet but, at least from your description, it doesn't sound like the Chilito to me. Didn't the Chilito have real melted cheese (cheddar?) instead of the nacho cheese sauce?

It did/does (we still have them) up here. No rice either.

    2. I'm in love with the Cheesy Double Beef Burrito. In fact, whenever I order it, I always ask for "extra extra" cheesy.

Ugh, why'd you have to bring this up... now I'm craving one!

      1. We still have the chili cheese burrito here. I ordered a CDBB, and was very disappointed, it was mostly rice and very little cheese.
What I've noticed is after they put out their new value menu, they quietly raised the prices on most of the rest of the menu. The regular beef nacho supreme have gone from $1.19 to $1.69 this year. It's cheaper to stay home and make tacos now.

No chilitos here in DC. And the CDBB I ordered was mostly beef and cheese, with very little rice or red sauce.

The Triple Layer Nachos are only .89, but they're not as good as the nachos supreme.
