Su Chang's

The last three visits the food has been horrible. I keep giving them a shot but I think last weekend will be my limit. The last 3 times we have been there the Young chow fried rice tasted stale. We ordered lamb with scallions (which is one of my fav dishes there btw) and it also tasted stale and like rubber. The gingered lobster was covered in corn starch which gave the lobster an odd taste (definitely NOT like your usual cantonese-style lobster), The king to pork was covered in a molasses like sauce unlike their old sauce which was more ketchupy in texture (like most cantonese restaurants) . The beef and scallion chow foon was tasteless... though our shrimp in a tomato sauce was good the rest of it wasn't really worth the trip.

I really wish HK eatery would open up a restaurant north of boston! It is totally worth the trip to Quincy to do our food shopping and have lunch on the weekend.

    We go to (or take out from) Su-Chang's about once a month. One of our favorite dishes used to be the Suan La Chow Show. The last two times we ordered it, the sauce had been changed to a bland generic brown sauce. I'm not knowledgeable enough about the recipe to say exactly what was wrong, but it clearly wasn't the same dish we'd been ordering for years. Not disappointing enough to make us swear them off, but still...
