Good Stop in Orange County/Hudson Valley

rapterman Nov 29, 2008 06:48 AM

The weather is too cold to properly entertain our 2 year old so my wife and I would like to take a little ride and find some good eats along the way.

Does anyone have any recommendations within 1 hour from the Warwick, NY/Middletown area?

Are you looking for a two-year-old-friendly place, or something just for the two of you? I have a great recommendation for the latter, but sometone wiht kids will have to give you advice on the former.

Well, The post was intended to find a place to bring the 2 year old, but I'd love to hear your recommendation for just the two of us!

(Everyone put your hands over your ears and groan, "Oh no not again")

The Iron Forge Inn in Bellvale off of route 17A between Warwick and Greenwood Lake.

Beautiful location in a historic and charming building. Excellent service. Food is to die for. The chef is just incredibly creative (although some say he's a bit over the top). It is my most favorite favorite favorite restaurant in the world. I think everyone on CH is tired of hearing me talk about it.
