Triangle Seafood (Crab Legs)-Where?

sixshootaunc Nov 28, 2008 10:02 AM

My girlfriend donated her kidney a week ago and is just now back to being able to eat whatever she wants, and she is dying to have some crab legs. She kept seeing the commercial for Kemp's Seafood and wants to go there, but after reading lots of 1-star reviews on them from Citysearch users, I'm a little hesitant.

So I ask you fellow Chowhounders, where can she get some quality crab legs in the Triangle? We live in Durham just off of 40, and are willing to drive a decent distance since we're easily accessible to all the major highways, freeways, etc.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I love Blu,but for crablegs I always go to Squids.

I love Blu, but when it is crablegs I want, I go straight to Squids. I usually get a full pound for my dinner and leave very happy.

Blu Seafood in Durham does great, inexpensive seafood... and they have crab specials on Thursdays (as well as oysters on Tuesdays...). Hope your gf feels better soon!

My favorite seafood place is Squid's in Chapel Hill.

I would probably go to Fishmongers. I'm sure others will also have opinions.
