Thai chiles in Asheville?

Hi,

I'm looking for Thai chiles. First problem, I don't know what they are. Are they dried or fresh? What color? How large?

Second, where in Asheville can I get them? I've tried Greenlife but they didn't have any.

Third, if I can't find them, what's an appropriate replacement?

Thanks for any help.

AH

I bought some dried Thai chiles at Kim's on Saturday. They are small, usually red and have a nice heat to them. Kim's also had fresh-frozen ones if needed, but I've only ever used the dried. Hope this helps.

Try Foreign Affairs asian market on Tunnel Road (in the same building as Play It Again Sports). If they don't have them, then they should be able to get them for you or recommend where you can get them.

Kim's on Regent Park (near Sam's) probably will have them as well, but I often have communications problems there. They're very nice though and have a good selection of asian goods.
