Hood River, The Dalles update?

We're headed to Columbia Gorge for some wine tasting, and the Chowhound restaurant rec's are a bit dated. Any recent experiences out there?

  1. Hood River - Celilo is still the best.
The Dalles - drive right on through

    1. Time to come back for more wine tasting! Many choices of restaurants in the gorge. Opened last year is "Kaze" in Hood River. Better sashimi/sushi than I've had in Portland
(owner/chef also has Hakatomon by Uwajimaya in Beaverton) wonderful hot dishes too.
Celilo is consistently excellent. Have also had multiple good meals at Hood River Hotel,
Good River in Mosier, Romul's in The Dalles, If you don't mind crowded & noisier... Everybody's Brewing in White Salmon, Solstice in Bingen and Baldwin Saloon in The Dalles.

Are the Kaze portion sizes the same as at Hakatomon? Thanks for the info.

Try Dixies in Hood River. Great southern food!

      2. the pizza at double mountain brewpub in hood river is excellent.. they are shooting for new haven style and the results are good...
