Downtown lunch Friday w/Parameters
Ok, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is:
Help me find a fun lunch place, less than $15 per entree, below 34th Street, for this Friday (Tgiving weekend) that a) won't be too crowded despite this being a huge day for tourists/shoppers to be out and about; b) will have options for non-adventurous eaters (i.e. Indian, Japanese, and down-and-dirty Chinatown Chinese all are unfortunately out); c) will have options for vegetarians/vegans; and d) will be a pain-free subway ride to Midtown east (MOMA).
Toughie? I have faith in your abilities.
Gusto Organic -- I have only been once, but I remember it being very good. Most items are under $15. Organic and great options for vegetarians/vegans. Check out the menu. http://www.gustorganics.com/index.php It is a neighborhood restaurant, I don't think it gets to busy and it's located at the 14th street stop on the F line. Very easy to get to Momo.
I have no idea how crowded it will be, but Via Emilia, on 21st St., b/t B'way & Park Av. S., serves very good food, especially the homemade pastas. Vegetarian-friendly. Prices fit your budget. Does not take reservations. Cash only. Subway: At 23rd St. & PAS, take the 6 to 51st St. Get out on the 53rd St. side. Short walk to MoMA.
