Using Frozen Peppers in Stir Fry?

I have some frozen tri-color pepper strips from Trader Joe's and I want to use them tonight in a stirfry with shrimp. Do I need to thaw the peppers first? The instructions only mention thawing if used in a salad. I can't imagine needing to thaw them ahead of time since they are cut strips and should cook quickly.

I was thinking of sauteeing some garlic and onions first then adding the shrimp and peppers for about three minutes at the end. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I have use these peppers and never thawed them before adding to a stirfry. But, honestly, they get so soft so quickly, that now I only use fresh in a stir fry

Are you kidding? Of course you have to thaw them. The secret to a stir fry is a really high flame and a lot of heat in the wok or pan. If you throw frozen peppers into this you are going to end up with a steamed mess. Not to mention the issue of water in hot oil.

agreed on thawing as a necessity....i zap them in the MW, then drain well.

No need to thaw, but be careful when adding to hot oil. Because of ice crystals, your oil may spatter. Adam
