Affinia Manhattan w/ kids

wondertrev Nov 25, 2008 06:14 PM

Hola, I'll be at the Affinia Manhattan for 2-3 days in January for, of all things, a rodeo (don't ask. It's for work.) I haven't stayed near here before, and will be taking the kiddo (8 year old, well-behaved, etc...) and wife. What's worth eating that kids and a non-adventurous wife will like? I assume there will be MSG-type restaurants, but I'm looking to avoid a glorified Applebee's.

    Enjoy your trip!

Always assume that New Yorkers have no idea where a hotel is, unless it's a really famous one like the Marriott Marquis, and provide cross streets (not just an address). I've never heard of the Affinia.

31st and Seventh, almost right across from the Garden. From what I remember of that area, almost everything is chains.

BTW, to the original poster, I hope they've upgraded soundproofing in that hotel. I was getting significant street noise 24/7 when I was on the 14th floor.

There is also one in the East 50s.

Well, if it's at 31st and 7th, that's right near Koreatown. Probably too adventurous for the original poster's family, though.
