Alright everybody, let's hear it!

What place and why.

I know it's been done, but I'm curious...

I have always had good meals at Wellington's (next to Oscar's out south). Much better than the over-rated Ruth's Chris.
Also went to the Keg in South Trail last weekend and (surprisingly) had a fairly good steak. I agree, the downtown Keg is horrible - have never had anything good there (hamburger had a hair in it, and the waitress did not seem surprised. Ick).

Bear's Den because they serve real Bearnaise sauce with their perfectly cooked steaks.

I know some people hate the Keg but one thing they do is Chicago rare. Black on the outside and barely warm on the inside that Isometimes crave.

I have to say, I've never had a good steak at the Keg. Sometimes have to go there because of work lunches. Once they appoligized for the delay on the baked potatoe because the microwave wasn't working. You know you're getting quality when they microwave the baked potatoes. I honestly wouldn't be suprised if they microwaved the steaks too. That's how bad they are.

we went to the keg on macleod trail last week because we had a gift certificate. one of the worst meals and dining experiences i've had in a long time. it was so bad that i'm not even gonna waste my time describing why. there is absolutely nothing positive i have to say about that place.

Nick's Crowchild across from the McMahon Stadium. Been an Icon for 20 plus years, same owners (NIck) lol. Menu hasn't changed much with great beef not a chain with slabs. I suggest Prime Rib with Yorkshire Pudding and a reservation.
