My bro-in-law jusr emailed me today about this very topic. The teudah says that the hechsher is Rabbi Avner Bitton, a musmach of Torah Vodaath and a talmid of Rav Belsky. He requested that I ask Rav Belsky if this is good, and report back to him. So I'll try to do it this week or next, and I guess I'll report my findings here as well.

Just checked it out but only went pareve awating Craig's report on the credentials of the unkown (at least to me) Rabbi Bitton.

Don't know how long they've been around, but it looks like they haven't gotten their act together yet. Service was slow and the server did not understand my question about pareve. Menu items I noticed are schnitzel on baugette; (3 different versions), shwarma, falafel, french fries, onion rings. Falafel was good although there was no techina. Similar to the now defunct House of Pita.
Prices are average. The guy whom I believe is the owner kept picking up his sweat pants...not an appetizing site but probably should not reflect on the food!

Sorry, people, I just haven't had time yet to contact Rav Belsky to ask. Perhaps by next week.

It is on the south-west corner, on 44th street. shwarma was 7.99, burger was 5.99, hot dog was 2.50, falafel was 4.50 - also had three kind of schnitzels on the menu.
unfortunately, he only had hot dogs and falafels today so didn't try him. small stand, bigger than a typical hotdog cart but smaller than Moshe's falafel stand two blocks north.

As of August 2009, 47th/6th (between 6th/broadway, southside of street). Burger 5.99, Falafel like $5.00, Grilled chicken 5.99, crispy chicken 6.99. So far I've had the crispy chicken and burger. Thought both were good and cart definitely has place in my rotation. I don't have a big crispy chicken game so I can't comment too much on it.. thought it could have been less oily, but accompaniments (bread, tomato, pickle etc.) I thought were solid enough. Overall woudl consider ordering that again or getting the grilled chicken. Burger, which has good reviews elsewhere on the internet, is a tricky thing to review. I liked it, but this isn't your standard burger. Very lean patty in oversize, but soft, bune, with some sort of garlic mayo and chopped tomato tapenade sauce. So at first I was like, this isn't a burger so much as a meat sandwich.. but then I ate the whole thing and was like.. tasty and probably more healthy than I was expecting. I added ketchup to mine.

They give out occassional free falafel balls as well. I don't have a falafel game, but thought their falafels were great. Fluffy/flavorful on the inside, crispy on the outside (though a little too oily for my taste). The tahini they are served with is a standout.. really makes the falafel balls a stand out in my opinion.

I will be back and will probably end up trying all of their menu items over the next 1-2 weeks.

I was there today, had a burger, it was OUTSANDING.. def not your regular burger, they say its gourmet and it definatly tastes so! I had it with their "chimi churi" sauce and garlic mayo, it was delicious. I chatted with one of the workers and was told that this is a totally new management, they started about a month ago, and they seem pretty organized and incredibly clean.
And theyre on Twitter, wich is grat cause now i can actually keep track of where they are.
I tried theyre falafel ball sample, i gotta say a million times better then Moshe's falafel and the Thina is really good too! like biting into Israel! simply delicious.

!! your review makes me hungry... question on the burger.. did you think it was too dry at all? I was going to ask for extra sauce next time. the lean burger/thin patty/big bun I thought made it a little dry?

do you mind sharing the twitter link btw? they told me they aren't there on Wednesday's because of street parking rules dealing with matinees etc.

I'm nervous that they may ditch the 46th street location for greener pastures.. most carts are on 44th/45th.. they haven't gotten traction yet at their current location.. and by looks of setup they are pros (the Honda generator) and want to do a mean business..
