    1. What was in it?
If it's powdered sugar and butter or crisco, it's fine until Thursday... If it's a cooked frosting with eggs, I'd consider freezing it.

        1. First things first: what kind of frosting? Is the cake well-sealed? It won't be rotten or poisonous by Thursday, but it might be a little dried out and crusty by then. Depending on the kind of frosting, your underlying cake may or may not be a little stale after four or five days in the fridge. Some frostings seal out air better than others.

            1. it's a pumpkin bread loaf cake. the recipe says to wrap tight and refrigerate up to 10 days. the frosting is a cream cheese/butter/confectioners? sugar and vanilla. it's on a plate and "tented" wrapped in a baggie plastic bag.

I doubt it will be spoiled, but I bet it will be stale. Next time I"d make and freeze the cake and frosting separately, then frost the day you're planning to serve.
