there's a butcher/meat place that does a lot of exotic meats that i can't remember the name of as well that might have a good prices.
Any Asian market will have ducks frozen.
Live poultry market in Chinatown on Spring Street near the corner of Ord and they got ducks for $2.99/lb. (Next door to Family Pastry).
Grassroots Market in South Pasadena is selling duck and geese for the holidays.
I think the place the OP is trying to remember is Harmony Farms, on Foothill in La Crescenta. They might have something more interesting than the white Pekins that are yer standard generic store duck...
You can go to Peking Poultry on Broadway in Chinatown... BEAUTIFUL ducks...
and very fresh as well!

Well, I do think Ducks are kinda cute... ;D but I meant after the slaughter. It makes those little anemic frozen ducks look SAD...
Try 99 Ranch for both fresh and frozen ducks. They also sell fresh duck legs.
