if the timing is right, you've only got two people and you like paella, try Socarrat on 19th between 7th and 8th. Otherwise I always enjoy Le Zie on 19th and 7th (Italian.)

What kind of food does Pipa serve and where is it?

I'd tend to go to Grand Sichuan on 24th and 9th, except that on weekend nights, it's totally slammed. What avenue is that theater on, anyway?

Pipa serves tapas, but they're closer to Union Square than Chelsea. If you want Spanish tapas, you'd be better off at La Nacional. It's very true to its Spanish roots (it's located in the Spanish National Home) and more convenient to your final destination. The owners also own Socarrat.
