Duck breasts - MSP

Are duck breasts readily available in the Twin Cities? Are the affordable? I wouldn't imagine going to Cub to pick some up but do you have to go to higher end grocers (Lunds, Kowalski's etc..) or do you need to go to Asian grocers? United Noodles and such...

TIA.

I've gotten excellent duck at St. Paul's farmer's market. It was whole duck, granted. But I'm sure you could get breasts, or a cut-up duck. There are several farm trucks there you can check. You might have to make an order and pick up the following weekend. But you won't be disappointed in the quality or freshness.

Saw a whole freezer case of them at SuperTarget in St. Paul.

I just checked my freezer. The duck breast I have there was purchased at 12.99 / lb from lund's (frozen). This was probably about 6 months ago.

Yes, it is time to do the duck. I have cooked whole ducks in the past but not done anything with a boneless breast. Any suggestion on this piece? Stir fry?

Can't vouch for 'em, but I saw them at Coastal Seafoods on Minnehaha in Mpls.

Clancey's has them in stock almost every time I go there.

When you type in "msp duck breast" and broaden the time parameter you get more hits. 12 month's on the MIDWEST board doesn't buy you that much depth.

We've bought fresh duck breasts from Clancy's Meats, in Linden Hills.

I've seen cooked duck at United Noodle; not sure about fresh/raw.

The major chains (lund's/byerley's, kowalski's) sell frozen.

I believe that Lund's Uptown store has frozen duck breasts. They're listed on the Lund's and Byerly's web site (for pickup at a Byerly's store) for $14.99/lb.
