Capital Grill and Morton's both have a good steak. I just tried Houlihan's and it's a very good choice. Napa is nice, but on the pricey side. Columbus Park Trattoria is a good Italian choice.

I can't vouch for the entire menu, but I've had a few tasty items at Kona Grill, and for some reason I have an obsession with their Oriental Salad with Macadamia Nut Chicken (no idea if it has MSG, though). Daughter thinks their sushi is decent--i don't touch the stuff.

For dessert, I'd definitely go to the new gelato place in the food court upstairs--very tasty and a wide selection of flavors. But take it home. Between the screaming kids in the play area and the aggressiveness of the guys pushing samples of various cooked items, it's not a pleasant place to eat.

Speaking of the Town Center restaurants, this past Saturday night they were all mobbed, with wait times from 15 to 40 minutes. They must be having an adverse impact on the other downtown restaurants. Between that and the economy, I expect to see some closings announced soon.

what a shame. but a good reminder, for all its "little big town," Stamford is still the burbs.

Have heard that Barcelona, despite the signage, has delayed if not cancelled their place on Summer.

And the chain Houlihan's just opened on Broad.

Too bad about Barcelona/Stamford, if true. Where did you hear it?

from a commercial real estate agent who was repeating what he had heard.

The "coming" signage, however, is still up, whatever that means.

Too bad if true. Barcelona would make a great addition to the "T".

        Hi there,

I'm a big fan of Capital Grill. It's technically a chain, and it's very expensive, but I prefer the product over that of any area steakhouse. I think it's head and shoulders above the other establishments in the mall. Can't vouch for the cleanliness nor the MSG, but it's really good food that seems to never get mentioned on this site.

Capital Grill is always good, consistent food. They do steaks better than most of the chains. their calamari app is out of this world and their aged steaks can't be beat.
Kona Grill btw is just gross. don't spend your money there.
If you go just a couple of blocks away, Market is very good as is Napa and Co.
