Bendick's mints

Where can I purchase Bendick's candies in the LA area, particularly the bitter mints? I have found sites to purchase them via internet but I need more immediate gratification.

Hail, Charles, fellow Bitter Mint lover! This will be no help whatever, but I used to buy them at Bullocks Wilshire (now a law school and no confectionary peddlers, they). Nowadays I get them when I go to the UK or a friend goes and brings them to me.

For those not in the know, Bendicks Bitter Mints are the Aritotelian perfection of a York's Peppermint Patty. Consider a patty of devine, strongly flavored peppermint buttercream enrobed in what appears to be unsweetened chocolate. The bitterness of the chocolate combines with the sweet spiciness of the buttercream to create nirvana on the tongue.

I found the variety box in the Target on La Cienega in Culver City (NOT the one on Sepulveda/Jefferson but the bigger one on La Cienega). Unfortunately, they weren't treated right and were quite stale. Plus, it was the variety box, not just the bittermints. A couple years ago, Trader Joe's stocked the variety box. They took much better care of the chocolates (not surprising). Might be worthwhile to ask the folks at TJ's to re-order it... if they get enough requests, who knows?
