Airport Rd & Derry Rd Area For Lunch?? Need Rec's

Recently relocated to the north end of Toronto Int Airport for emloyment and I'm completely
unfamiliar with the area. Looking for some great food, all cuisines where one can sit down and enjoy thier lunch. Take out or great holes in the wall recs also welcomed.

If you want what in my opinion is one of the top 3 Pizza places in Toronto, head north on Airport road (I am not sure where Derry is, so I cannot say how far it is) to Airport Pizza, it is on the west side of the street.

Amazing crust, awesome sauce.

Sadistick Airport Pizza seems about a half hour drive north of Derry Rd. But on a slow day I may actually give it a go based on your rec.

Anytime. They have an executive lunch menu that is available Mon-Fri. It is $7.99. I have tried the lemon chicken and it's definitely above average and quite nice - not too sweet with a nice citrus-sour flavour. Well fried. Breast meat only. It might be a nice variation to dim sum (however, I do prefer the dim sum at Grand to their executive lunches).

for generic food chains there are a couple plazas on dixon just before 27 that have jack astors, canyon creek and boston pizza, etc.
there is a keg and lonestar texas grill on dixon just before carlingview
there is a st louis on dixon just past 27
also, if you are looking for a good veal sandwich there is mama's panino on dixon or a california sandwiches on dixie road just north of the 401

Glad you enjoyed the Grand. I generally don't make it out there on a weekday - hope it was still good. Please note that I heard that the chef isn't there on Thursdays. You may want to keep that in mind.

Hi again Porto. For standard road-fare/bar food - Arizonas is not bad. It's on Carlingview just west of Dixon (Airport Road). It's a "guy's place". Pool tables, wings, potato skins, etc, and very young cute waitresses. The YYZ ground staff frequent it. It's very popular.

Absolutely - ZETs... Airport Road just south of Derry on the East Side. It's a bit of a greasy spoon.. great eggs and bacon, steak on a kaiser, souvlaki on a pita, burgers. It's not glamorous by any means, and they can be very busy over the lunch hour (an airport staff favorite). Open 24 hours. You must check it out !

Not sure if you have a car, but Grand Chinese Cuisine is nearby. They have great dim sum during lunch hours.

GREAT SOMOSA AND HOMEMADE FOOD. ALSO ON THE NORTWEST CORNER IN A SMALL PLAZA IS A GOOD HAKA CHINESE RESTAURANT.

Lykn Chicken is near there, I like the pulled pork sandwich there and they've probably got some pretty good smoked ribs

Kwality Sweets at Steeles and Torbram is worth a try. Recently remodeled with ample glitz and big screen TVs carrying Bollywood music videos, it's the same dependable food at reasonable prices. Take-out and ample seating.

That's great so guy's. I did try Zet's and has a grilled chicken pita. $6.95 was really good.
I'm willing to travel a bit so if you have anything within a 10 15min drive please pass it along. Kagemusha i will kive Kwality a try next week.

Oooh...i've been to a couple hole-in-the-wall indian fast-food places around there that were amazing. VERY spicy food. Unfortunately, I don't know the names of any of them :(.

Sorry, I guess that doesn't help you much. There's always Zet's, though again I can't remember the exact location.

Zets is on Derry Road as it become Airport, isn't it? You just a drive a bit 'west-ish' from, say Carlingview, and then Zets will be on your right.

Its killer food. Portions, taste...everything.

Love Zets. When I have time before a flight, I'll stop in a get a BLT to go. I get lots of envious looks on the plane when I unwrap it.
