Fireside in Stamford

Just ate there Tuesday and came away thinking they really have the best hamburgers in town and I ought to post on Chowhound about the place. Well, I guess I have. Sniffle. I can't think of any other place in Stamford that combines a casual menu, unpretentious setting, reasonable prices and good food the way Fireside did..

It really is too bad, but I must say that ever since Sunny and Frankie's opened down the street I haven't been going to Fireside much. Sure, Fireside had the best wings around, but the wings were made at Vinny's Backyard anyways. You can still get them there.
If anyone hears whether they will rebuild or if something else will go in there please post on CH.

re: wookiedoodle
S&F is on Hope Street on the other side from where Fireside was. It is a great little neighborhood bar with food that I feel is far above normal bar food. They do have burgers and "bar" pizza, but we always get full meals. We have had Salmon over Spinach (yum), pasta rustica (sausage, garlic, etc) and an awesome Penne Ragu.
