Does anyone have any good tips for healthy and delicious food in or near Venice? Local, organic produce and meat a plus. Good vegetarian options a must! Thanks!

I do not know about organic produce, but 26 Beach has some great entree salads and many dishes can be done vegetarian, tofu instead of chicken or shrimp. They make their own veggie pattes that are vegatarian.....LOL. Ask to be seated in the garden.patio. Go for brunch and some great french toasts!

i ike Urth cafe on Main St. Santa Monica & second Axe (although last time I was there they had the front door wide open & there was a terrible problem w/flies). There's also a Real Food Daily on Santa Monica Blvd. at 5th.

for healthy fare, and bodybuilders to gawk at, there's Firehouse in Venice.

for healthyier (americanized Chinese), Mao's Chinese Kitchen will do anything without oil or sugar or added salt. they also offer veggie substituted.

i think of fritto misto as somewhat healthy, only because with any of the pasta , you can sub steamed broccoli (or other veigges)
