  1. In this morass of bad financial news and news of the closings of many good restaurants, finally, some good news! I wish them well. They are a credit to the Tampa area.

    1. Wish they'd come up north to Tallahassee with one of those locations. I like the idea of being over near I-75 easy access for a quick bite if you're on your way to FT Meyers or Marco Island.

Is there a bakery in NW fl yet that makes real Cuban bread?

      2. We desperately need one in south St Pete. I hope they come here!

        1. I don't know ... I am glad they are doing so well financially, given the state of things, but I can't think of much as likely to water down quality and kill that indy atmosphere than opening 10 new places at once and going all chain-y on us. It worries me...

Luckily I prefer Arco Iris (their new second little location is just great) and West Tampa Sandwich Shop anyhow.

Dang, they snuck in a new location on us. What is it, RK?

It's at Habana and Tampa Bay Blvd, and it is called 'Cafe Iris' I think, with the same rainbow. Much more cosy than the original location, cleaner, similar menu, and at least as good. Very sweet servers too, and no increase in price.

That's interesting. But it seems relatively close to the original location. Wonder why they put it so close.

                Thanks for the information!

I agree - they are staying in the hood. Would seem to have made more sense to open in South Tampa or something.
