Gelato Firenze (near Grand Lake Theatre), Oakland report w/ pics

On a walk around Lake Merritt we decided to find Gelato Firenze & try it. It's on Lake Park near Walker Ave, close to the Grand Lake Theatre & next to KFC. Close to Hwy 580.

It's a tiny shop and they only had one person working there when I went. You can ask for samples. I tried the lychee which was good.

Prices are:

S $3.25 - up to 2 flavors
M $4 - up to 3 flavors
L $4.75 - up to 4 flavors

Gelato pie $12.99/ $3.25 a slice
Italian soda $1.75
Gelato pint $8.25
kid size $3
Waffle cones $1 extra
Pumpkin gelato pie available for the holidays

I got:
Medium w/ pomegranate, cherry, & ginger - cherry was ok, pomegranate didn't have much flavor, ginger was nice & spicy. $4

Hubby got a Small w/ cookies & cream & orange. The orange was ok, cookies & cream had bits of cookies in it. $3.25

Total was $7.25 - tax included.

They have a Frequent Buyer Reward Program on their business card. Buy any 10 gelatos, get a Medium gelato FREE. Pints count as 2 gelatos.

Two tables in another area, or some chairs outside.

Mission, Gelato Firenze is still open. The one that closed was Gelato Milano, but it's now Almare Gelato Italiano in Berkeley. Almare is very good & right by Downtown Berkeley Bart.

Almare is super good. We walk down frequently and get coffee for me and vanilla for my husband. And another vanilla for the dog.
